Idea #5

ID Cards

I support the introduction of ID Cards.

Why?

No ID Card No Job,
No ID Card No Benefits,
No ID Card No State Housing,
No ID Card No NHS treatment (apart from Emergency),
No ID Card No Bank Account,
No ID Card - You are illegal.

I do not believe the population should pay for ID Cards. It is the Government who should pay for them.

How much would be saved if the law stated everyone must carry their own ID card and all the above was strictly adhered to?

I would like to see a few bits of information kept on the cards but not much. Firstly I would like to see whether a person has opted OUT of having their organs used in case of a fatal accident. I am sure it would be useful for medical staff to know a person's blood type. But that is all I would like on an ID Card.

I digress, but I think it crass stupidity not to have an OPT-OUT as opposed to an OPT-IN when talking of organ donation. With many lives set for improvement with an organ transplant it is GROSS INCOMPETANCE not to have an OPT-OUT!

Before those small minded idiots at civil liberties get on their high horses. How many other so-called civilised western nations have ID Cards? It is both logical and badly needed.
