I think it should be made a Criminal Offence to be in UK illegally with an Automatic 3 year Prison sentence for those caught. Deportation should be automatic after sentence. It should be made clear to those who do not depart our shores willingly that they are here illegally and another Automatic 3 year sentence is pending their leaving. After 3 months are served the offer of deportation willingly should be made.
All those deported should be banned from returning to the UK for at least 10 years.
Those caught here illegally more than once should get an Automatic 6-year sentence.
I would give everyone here illegally 6 months notice to leave before the law comes into effect.

All those allowed to come and work here must work for 2 years continuously before being entitled to any benefits.

No Application for asylum should be allowed in the UK. All applications must be made at a UK Embassy abroad. If the application is not at an Embassy in or adjacent to the applicants' country of birth. Then questions should be asked why not? All those applying must speak and write English and have proof of identity.
Proof of identity is needed so we know where to send them back to if subsequently deported.
All those allowed in should be on 5 years probation. They commit a criminal act in that period, they (and their whole family) are then Deported. They all automatically become illegal.
